Step-up Instrument: Up to 1 year of rental credit (12 standard payments) may be applied to the purchase of a new step-up/pro instrument. The step-up/pro instrument must be of equal or greater value than the current instrument. Contract must be current, and the rental instrument returned at the time of purchase.
Payment: A credit or debit card is required and will automatically deduct on the day of the month the contract began. Customer may pay another way before the due date, but a card must remain on autopay. Payments continue monthly until the instrument is returned or fully paid off. 100% of rental payments apply toward ownership. Early payoffs receive a 20% discount off the remaining balance at the time of purchase.
Return Policy: Instruments may be returned at any time with no further obligation, subject to inspection for missing parts or damage. No credit will be given for partial months, and equity accumulated in the instrument will be forfeited.
Maintenance and Repairs: Standard repairs are included free of charge. Repairs may be dropped off at Canby Music or picked up from the student’s school upon request. During the rent-to-own period, instruments must be repaired by Canby Music. Repairs performed outside of Canby Music may result in additional charges. Most instruments require the purchase of a maintenance kit. Regular student maintenance is expected. Canby Music also provides a complimentary professional cleaning service, recommended annually. Loaner instruments are available if needed.
Non-Payment: A late fee of $5 per month will apply until the account is current. After 31 days of non-payment, the contract will terminate and the instrument must be returned. Failure to return the instrument may result in collection fees and additional recovery costs.
Lost, Stolen, or Damaged Instruments: Canby Music is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged instruments. Customer is responsible for replacement or repair costs if the instrument is lost, stolen, or damaged due to intentional acts, negligence, or misuse beyond normal wear and tear. Customers are encouraged to add the instrument to their renters or homeowners insurance policy.
